Camera vs editing software

With a fixed budget say 1500 is it better to spend 900 on a camera and 600 on software or 1400 on camera and 100 on software. I have 3 movies in my head one is a fantasy sword play thing and the other is a scifi horror movie shot mostly in dark settings. The 3ed movie I need a little more therapy yet before I can talk about it [img]confused.gif[/img]
I have 3 or 4 cameras to look at
low light shooting is a concideration
sony trv950
optura xi
pana PV-DV953

software is vegas dvd
and pinical liquid
I tried to do a search but I didn't come up with much that was recent and tech changes so fast I figure opions might too.

If its only software youre after then spend all the money on a camera. Get the software off Kazaa or something

Or get someone to do you a copy of a program they own...if you dont know anyone to help you I'm sure they'll be someone around here who does

Thanks. I am going to get the sony trv 950. Just shopping to try and find it a little cheaper. I have never realy bought software before I thought I would turn over a new leaf. The only guy I know that is into it has liquid pro and he dosn't seem to be budging on getting a copy [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]
